Description of Work Performed:
Provided engineering support services to NAVAIR AIR-4.5 Avionics Engineering Department as they developed the force protection systems for forward operating bases (FOBs) in remote locations in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Isolated FOB’s have been repeatedly attacked without warning by enemies of freedom (EOF) which have inflicted heavy casualties on US Forces.
In response to this threat NAVAIRSYSCOM’s Special Surveillance Program (SSP) uses cutting edge technologies and rapid prototyping to turn conceptual designs into deployable systems in the field. Vyalex provided avionics engineering services to AIR 4.5X Special Surveillance Programs for systems development and procurement of additional systems for FOBs throughout Afghanistan. Vyalex provided support for a specific high impact to ensure program milestones were met.
