Al Leandre was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He immigrated to Washington D.C as a boy and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C in 1984.
Mr. Leandre earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Syracuse University in 1988 and worked as an engineer for several years. He served his country as a US Army Combat Engineer Officer in the Maryland Army National Guard. In 2000 he left the Naval Air Systems Command where he was a senior electronics engineer working on the Navy’s F/A-18 to attend the University Of Michigan Ross School of Business where he received a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management fellowship. He later earned a Master in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Strategy in 2002.
After receiving his MBA, Mr. Leandre founded Vyalex Management Solutions, Inc., an engineering and program management consulting firm that uses cutting edge technology to help its Federal sector clients set goals and adopt strategies and tactics to information technology, systems engineering, acquisition management and workforce development. The firm’s exclusive Vyalex Total Technology Pipeline (V-TTP) is a platform to manage the recruitment of US students for government agencies and private industry for Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) related fields. Students get real world professional experience, while clients get a pipeline of eager and qualified future leaders for their technical organizations.
As President/CEO, Al leads Vyalex in providing goods and services to the Department of Defense; other government agencies and industry. Al has won numerous awards over the years including the following: FIRN’s American Success Award in 2006; MD Top-100 MBE in 2007; Entrepreneur Black Engineer of the Year in 2008. He served as a consumer member of the Maryland Board of Pharmacy, the public agency that licenses and monitors pharmacists and pharmacies in the state. He also served on the board of Alumni Governors at the Ross School of Business. He is currently on the board of advisers at the Syracuse University School of Information Science and the foundation board of the College of Southern Maryland (CSM).

management consultants who are passionate about the business and the intellectual challenge that it offers.
Team members must have at least 2-15 years of successful management consulting experience performing strategic analysis and, or, operations improvement projects for one or more of the larger, well known consultancies.
At VMS, you will work with other team members on site and communicate with our clients. You will ensure the rigor and underlying logic of the team's findings, optimize the analytical storyline and develop superior, easy to comprehend documentation. You will also work with an offsite analysis and management team to produce top products and services on behalf of our clients.
